Полузащитник молодёжной сборной Англии Фабиан Делф продлил свои отношения с бирмингемским клубом до 2015 года.

Делф сыграл 4 матча за «Виллу» после долгого отсутствия из-за травмы ноги.

В интервью официальному сайту клуба футболист рассказал, что он безмерно счастлив остаться на «Вилла Парк» и будет всячески бороться за твёрдое место в основе.

Кроме того, футболист так же отмечал, что он с любого расстояния сможет попасть в Ворота для гандбола. Смелое заявление, надо сказать. хотя, если в этих воротах не будет вратаря, то вполне себе можно забить гол.

Фабиан Делф мечтает играть за основную команду Англии. Сейчас ему удалось пробиться в ее молодежный состав и он постоянно прогрессирует. Возможно, Астон Вила сможет создать необходимые для дальнейшего роста условия футболисту. Если Делф будет прогрессировать так же, как в молодежном составе, то через пару тройку лет за его продажу можно будет выручить серьезные деньги. Сейчас же полузащитник больше похож на подающего надежды, но ни как не на будущее английского футбола. В Англии вообще сейчас маловато действительно талантливой молодежи, которая сможет достичь уровня хотя бы Руни, который в свою очередь, так и не стал футболистом экстра-класса. Топовый, да, но не экстра-класс.

Фабиан Делф решил оставить за собой 16 номер, который он получил в начале сезона.

По слухам, полузащитником интересовался Эвертон. Но соперничать с Феллайни на одном уровне? Думаю, Делф еще слабоват для такого противостояния и борьбы за основу. Вот если бельгиец уйдет в Манчестер Юнайтед, о чем в последнее время все чаще говорят английские СМИ, тогда Делфу вполне можно переходить в Эвертон. Но все это сослагательные наклонения. Делф остался игроком Астон Вилы и должен в стенах родного клуба доказывать свою состоятельность как профессионала. Астон Виле сейчас нужны горячие молодые патриоты, которые выкладываться за любимый клуб. Дела у бирмингемцев идут не лучшим образом.
