Лондонский клуб «Челси», крайне неудачно начавший сезон в английской Премьер-Лиге, сменил рулевого. Жозе Моуринью 17 декабря всё-таки был отправлен в отставку, а на его место пришёл известный всей России Гус Хиддинк.

Ранее сообщалось, то Гус Хиддинг может возглавить один из клубов, представляющих чемпионат Франции по футболу.

История, описав круг, повторилась, ведь такой эпизод в летописи столичной футбольной дружины уже был. С февраля 2009 года и до окончания того сезона Гус уже был у руля «аристократов». Тогда голландец взял Кубок Англии. Кроме того, лондонцы дошли до полуфинала Лиги Чемпионов, где в напряжённейшем двухматчевом противостоянии не смогли пройти испанскую «Барселону».

В России, однако, Гус Хиддинк известен в качестве наставника главной команды страны, которой он руководил с 2006 до 2010 года. Под его руководством национальная дружина добилась самого громкого успеха в своей новой российской истории, добыв медали бронзового достоинства на Евро-2008. На пути к этому выдающемуся успеху россияне под руководством Хиддинка обыграли его родных «оранжевых», забив дважды в дополнительное время. Популярность голландца в России была настолько велика, что в его честь называли новорожденных, а в разговорах между собой именовали Гусом Ивановичем. Карьера Гуса в сборной России завершилась на плохой ноте, когда россияне не смогли выйти на чемпионат мира 2010 года, уступив в стыковых матчах словенцам.

Гус Хиддинк ещё раз вернулся в Россию, чтобы руководить «Анжи». Ведомая им команда из столицы Дагестана завершила первенство России 2012-2013 годов в тройке, взяв первые в истории клуба медали.

Последним местом трудовой деятельности Гуса Хиддинка была сборная его родной страны, откуда он был уволен за плохие результаты руководимой им дружины в отборочной группе Евро-2016. Голландской сборной смена наставника не помогла, и на чемпионат Европы «оранжевые» не попали.

Пока Гус Хиддинк будет руководить лондонским клубом до окончания сезона, после чего, возможно, на его место будет назначен другой специалист. Вариант, при котором 69 летний голландец останется у руля «аристократов» и в следующем сезоне, исключать, однако, полностью нельзя.
